Lace Demonstrations

Lace demonstrations are held on a regular basis at National Trust property at Rufford Old Hall. If any members feel they can spare some time to make lace in this beautiful venue please contact Sylvia Wright or Marilyn Walker for information of planned dates.

Small items of lace are always welcome to add to the sales table to help with club funds.

Exhibitions

Committee members can demonstrate their lace making and display samples of their favourite work.

Competitions

West Lancashire Lacemakers hold two competitions each year; the next competition dates are on our Calendar.

Annual General Meeting:

In April, we have our AGM and invite all members to display any lace they have made in the last 12 months. The winning piece is voted for by those in attendance and the winning lacemaker(s) are awarded the Rose Bowl to keep for 12 months. They also receive a commemorative bobbin.

Catterns Celebration (advance booking required):

In November, we hold our Catterns event. This is a themed competition and changes each year. Members are invited to submit their pieces and the winner is voted for by those in attendance. The Stan Hill Trophy and a commemorative bobbin are awarded to the winner.
